Cuba 2015 Education Tour – Reaching Beyond Our Borders

Participants of USISPO's CUBA 2015 educational tour took a step back in time when they learned about Cuba's health care system and unique culture. The ninety-mile journey to "Planet Cuba" from Miami took the forty two members of the group to an experience creating bridges of understanding of professional, cultural and human perspectives.

The three-day tour included visits to the Frank Pais Hospital, the Hospital Julio Dias, Havana's largest rehabilitation center. The high point for most of the group was a tour of the Nation's largest orthotic and prosthetic facility, Centro Nacional de Ortopeda Tecnica CNOT/Cuba RDA and a presentation by the the Cuban Ministry of Health.
